The Rev. Skip Walker

Fr. Skip Walker is currently Ministry Coordinator with Peoples of African Descent for the East Carolina Diocese and Priest-in-Charge here at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church and St. Mark’s Episcopal church (Wilmington, NC).

Fr. Walker holds a Bachelors of Arts from Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), a Master's degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Wake Forest, NC), and he is currently a doctoral candidate at Sewanee School of Theology (The University of the South's, Sewanee, TN).

Before serving at St. Josephs, Fr. Walker taught as an adjunct professor of music and religion at Methodist University (Fayetteville, NC); lectured in Jazz studies at University of North Carolina Pembroke; and served as “Priest in Charge” at St. Andrews Episcopal Church (Goldsboro, NC) and Associate Rector at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (Greenville, NC). 

In addition to his priestly duties, Fr. Walker is also a Jazz musician and recording artist and enjoys exploring ways to use jazz music to enhance Christian worship.
